Secretary Candidate: Laura Lopes

My name is Laura Lopes. I am a rising sophomore, and I will be running for the secretary position. If you do vote for me, I want to thank you for your support in advance. Below are some of the reasons why I would be the perfect fit for secretary. Please consider me to be the next secretary for Newman. I am highly organized and attentive to detail. This ability would allow me to process all the information from the student council meetings, and summarize it for my peers. I will listen to your voices. Voices are critical. All opinions should be open for discussion, and free from judgement. I am a proud member of the (L)GBTQ community, an attribute that would bring a well rounded representation to the group. Finally, I want to share my previous leadership experiences. Recently, I was voted as the Women’s Empowerment Leader. Currently, we are working on creating projects that help women around the world, and uplifting small women-owned businesses.
